Privacy Policy

This is a translation for your convenience. The Czech version (mojehistorie.cz/zasady) is the binding one.

Who we are

Your data is processed by us, the company PunkHive s.r.o., which runs the Moje historie service.

  • PunkHive s.r.o., Company ID (IČO) 21152195, VAT ID (DIČ) CZ21152195
  • registered office: Kaštanová 1055/14, 779 00 Olomouc, Czech Republic
  • entered in the Commercial Register kept by the Regional Court in Ostrava, file no. C 94899
  • e-mail for anything concerning your data: info@mojehistorie.cz

We are the controller (správce) of all data in the service, that is on the website mojehistorie.cz, in accounts, in the free sample, in commissioned research and in family websites. We have not appointed a data protection officer, because we do not need one. Write directly to the e-mail above.

In short

We need your data only to trace your ancestors and show them to your family.

  • We never sell your data. When we find another ancestor in your family tree, we send you a short summary, and you can unsubscribe from it with one tap. After the free sample we send you at most two short reminders about your family tree, and after you unlock it one e-mail about where the search could go next. You unsubscribe from them the same way as from the summary. We send no other advertising.
  • The family website is seen only by the people you invite, and by our team when working on the family tree or dealing with your request for help. Living people are not visible publicly.
  • We use no advertising cookies. We measure visits to the website and the account (Google Analytics) only with your consent in the cookie bar, without ancestors' names and without the name of your family tree.
  • You cancel your account yourself on the Account page. We do not delete the data by doing so; it stays stored and the account can be restored. We carry out the complete deletion of your data at your request; write to us.

Account

You need an account to enter an ancestor, see the result and have access to the family tree.

We store your e-mail, your name (how to address you), your password only as a secure fingerprint (hash), for sign-in through Google the Google account identifier and its e-mail if it differs from the e-mail of your account (the one the invitation or the confirmation of the free sample came to), your role, the time of registration, the version of the terms you agreed to, and your last sign-in. We process them because you are ordering the service (contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). An account cannot be created without an e-mail.

When you sign in through Google, Google tells us your e-mail, name and account identifier. Google processes the data as a separate controller under its own rules.

Free sample

For the free sample we process what you write to us about the ancestor and what we find in the parish register.

That is the ancestor's name and maiden name, the year and village of birth, marriage or death, the names of the parents, whom you are looking for the family tree for (for a gift, the recipient's name), your relationship to the ancestor, which documents you have at home, attached photos of documents and what you know about the ancestor. And the result: the record from the parish register, the transcription, the names of the parents and grandparents and a link to the image in the archive. Without that the free sample cannot be made (contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The details about the ancestor, the attached photos of documents and the images of the parish registers are read, with our help, by a language model (Anthropic, see Whom we pass data to); we do not send it your e-mail or your name.

On photos of documents, please cover personal identification numbers (rodná čísla) and details of living people that we do not need for the search.

Enquiry and contact form

We use the details from an enquiry only to reply to you and prepare a quote.

From an enquiry we store your name, e-mail, phone number if given, whom the family tree is for (for a gift, the recipient's name), the package, where the family comes from, what you know about it and the desired date. From the contact form, your name, e-mail and message. This is a step before concluding a contract that you asked for yourself (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). For a general question we reply on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to whoever writes to us (point (f)).

For an enquiry and for a message from the contact form we also store your IP address for 30 days to protect the form against misuse (legitimate interest in the security of the service, point (f)).

Commissioned research, unlocking and payment

For commissioned research and for unlocking in the app we need your contact details, your order and the payment details.

We store the quote, the order confirmation, the version of the terms, your request, if any, to start work before the end of the withdrawal period, our mutual communication and the status of the research (contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). For invoices we need your name, billing address, the amount and the date. We are required by law to keep these (accounting and tax regulations, point (c)).

Unlocking in the app. When you unlock a person, a branch or the whole family tree in the app, we store the order: what you unlocked and for how much (identifiers of the people in the family tree, not names), the order number, the time, the version of the terms you agreed to, your request for immediate access, the payment identifier from Stripe and the status (contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep orders for as long as the account exists and then for another 10 years because of accounting and tax regulations (point (c)). An unpaid order is deleted after 30 days.

Payments are processed by the Stripe payment gateway (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, Ireland). You enter your card number directly with it; it never reaches us. Stripe receives from us your e-mail, a description of the order (without ancestors' names) and the amount; on its page you enter your name and billing address. From Stripe we receive only information about the payment (the amount, status, payment method and possibly the last digits of the card) and the issued tax document. Stripe processes payments for us. For fraud prevention and its duties as a payment institution, however, it is at the same time a separate controller under its own rules. The same applies to Apple Pay, Google Pay and deferred payments (for example Klarna), if you choose them.

Gift voucher

When you buy a gift voucher, we need to know whom it is for, whom it is from and where to send it.

We store your name and e-mail, whom the voucher is for and from whom (as you write it on the voucher, for example "grandma Marie"), the scope, the price, the code and the validity of the voucher, the time and the version of the terms you agreed to, and the payment identifier from Stripe. On redemption, also who redeemed the voucher and when. We process them because you are buying the voucher (contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The recipient's name on the voucher is processed on the basis of the legitimate interest of both you and the recipient in making the gift personal (point (f)); the recipient learns about us from the voucher and, on redeeming it, from this policy. Stripe receives from us your e-mail and the description of the voucher, including whom it is for. The voucher is proof of payment, so we keep it for 10 years from payment (accounting and tax regulations, point (c)). An unpaid voucher is deleted after 30 days.

Family website and invitations

The family website is your family's private family tree on Moje historie. Only invited people can see it.

The family website contains the tree, people, stories, a map, cut-outs of records and photos, including living family members. Living people and cut-outs are seen only by members with the family or administrator role. A guest (if the owner of the family tree lets them in) sees deceased ancestors only. Someone who is not signed in sees nothing.

The owner of the family tree (the customer) and the administrators they appoint invite further family members. They enter their e-mail, name and role, and we send the invited person an e-mail with a link where they choose to sign in through Google or with a password. An invitation is valid for 30 days. For members we store the same as for an account. If you accept an invitation with a Google account that already has an account with us, we also store with the membership the address the invitation came to. The owner and the administrators of the family tree see for each member their name, e-mail, role, sign-in method (password or Google, and the e-mail of the Google account if it differs) and last sign-in. An administrator can link an account to a person in the tree ("Related to") so that the website shows how people are related.

We run the family website on the basis of the contract with the customer and with every member who creates an account (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The invitation sent before an account is created is based on the family's legitimate interest in inviting their relatives (point (f)).

Photos of people

Family members can upload photos to people in the tree, for example a portrait of a grandmother or a wedding photo of grandparents.

  • Who sees them: only signed-in members of the family tree with the family or administrator role. Guests and visitors who are not signed in never see the photos. The photos are not available through the public address of the family tree either. Each photo shows who uploaded it.
  • What we store: the photo, its crop and adjustments (brightness, contrast, sepia), the caption, the year it was taken and who uploaded it and when. Additional data stored in the photo (EXIF), for example camera and location data, is removed already in the browser and again on the server. So we do not store this data.
  • Whom we pass them to: nobody. We do not send the photos to artificial intelligence or to any other company. They are stored on our server in the European Union. Their encrypted backup is in Amazon S3 storage in Frankfurt.
  • Deletion: a photo can be deleted by the person who uploaded it, the owner of the family tree or an administrator. We delete it at once. It disappears from the backups on the server within 14 days and from the encrypted backup within 30 days. When you cancel your account, your photos stay in the family tree because they belong to the family's tree. Instead of your name they will show "family member". If you want these photos deleted too, write to us.
  • Photos of living people and children: upload them only with their consent, for children with the consent of their parents. Anyone in a photo can ask us to delete it.

We process photos on the basis of the contract with the customer and with every member who creates an account (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We process photos of living people on the basis of the family's legitimate interest in preserving its history (point (f)).

Family questionnaire

The owner of the family tree sends the questionnaire to relatives. The answers are saved into their family's family tree.

If you received a link to the family questionnaire, we have your name and e-mail from the administrator of the family tree. We save your answers, the time of completion, the previous wording of answers you edit, when you last opened the link, and possibly which person in the tree the administrator attaches the answer to.

  • The answers are seen by the administrator of the family tree. An answer attached to a person is also seen by family members with the family role. We use them for researching the family tree.
  • You save your answers on the basis of consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give at the start of the questionnaire. Completing it is voluntary. You can withdraw your consent at any time by e-mail, and we then delete the answers.
  • If you write something about yourself concerning health, faith or origin, we save it only with your explicit consent, which you give by a separate tick (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR). Please do not write about the health or faith of other living people.
  • What you write about other people (parents, siblings) is processed on the basis of the family's legitimate interest in knowing its own family tree (point (f)); see the section "Are you in a family tree someone else created?".
  • Children under 15 complete the questionnaire only with a parent who agrees to it.

Connecting the family tree to an assistant app

Family members can connect the family tree to their assistant app (for example Claude or ChatGPT) and ask about it in a conversation.

The connection is switched on by the family member themselves in their app and approved on our page. The app then reads the family tree to the extent of their role. For living people, depending on the family website's settings, either the same as on the website, or only names and relationships, or nothing at all. If the member also allows changes when connecting, the app can, at their request, do in the family tree the same as the member may do on the website (for example add a relative, correct a detail, send the family questionnaire or invite a family member by e-mail), always only after the member confirms it in the conversation. It cannot delete the family tree or make payments.

What appears from the family tree in the conversation is stored by the app in the family member's account. The operator of the app (for example Anthropic for Claude or OpenAI for ChatGPT) is responsible for that as a separate controller under its own rules. We pass the data on the instruction of the family member, because they requested this feature themselves (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). For the other people in the family tree, on the basis of the family's legitimate interest in using the family tree with a tool of their choice (point (f)). We record who connected the app and when, and which tools it called, without the contents of the queries. You can cancel the connection at any time in the app or in the family tree (Connected apps).

Write to us

When you write to us with the "Write to us" button, we use it only to fix bugs and improve the service.

We store your text, the page address, the browser type and the window size, for a signed-in user the account, otherwise the e-mail if you fill it in, and a screenshot if you attach one. The screenshot may also show your family website. If it shows details you do not want to send us, do not attach it. We process this on the basis of our legitimate interest in fixing bugs (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Testimonials

When you write in your account how you like the result, it helps us improve the service. We show it on the website only with your consent.

We store your text, a star rating if you give one, and when you wrote it (after the free sample, or after unlocking the family tree). If you agree to publication, also the signature you choose: name and town, first name only, or anonymous, and the time and wording of your consent.

  • Without consent the text is read only by us, to improve the service (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We show it nowhere.
  • With consent we show the text, the rating and the chosen signature on the website mojehistorie.cz (consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). We read the text before publishing. We change nothing in it; at most we may shorten the signature. We show praise and criticism alike; we do not publish only a text with other people's personal data, insults, or one that is not about our service.
  • Verification: a testimonial can be written only from the account of a customer to whom we sent the result of the free sample. There are no other testimonials on the website.
  • You withdraw consent at any time in your account settings (section Your testimonial) or by e-mail. The testimonial disappears from the website within a few minutes. In the same place you can edit or delete it.

Connecting with relatives

When the same ancestor appears in your family tree and in another customer's family tree, we offer you both a connection.

  • When it is the same ancestor: the same record in the parish register, or the same name, village and date of birth (or year and a parent's name).
  • What we compare: only deceased ancestors in your family tree, that is the name, birth, village, parents and where the record is from. Living people and people hidden in the family tree are not compared. We do the comparison on the basis of our legitimate interest in helping you find relatives (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • What you learn: in the first e-mail only that we have a match. Nothing about the other customer or their family tree. On the offer page you see your ancestor as you see them in your own family tree.
  • Contact details (name and e-mail) are exchanged only if you both agree (consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). We store when and with what wording you agreed or declined. Until the other person decides, you can change your answer. Contact details that have already been sent cannot be taken back.
  • Not interested? You switch off connection offers in your account settings (section E-mail updates) or with the link in the e-mail. Then we do not compare your family tree at all.

E-mails

We send e-mails about your account, free sample, unlocking, enquiry, commissioned research and family website.

When we find another ancestor or a new record in your family tree, we send you at most once a week a short summary without names, with a link to the family tree where you can unlock what was found. We send it to customers who have a family tree from the sample and have not yet unlocked everything, because it concerns their own family tree (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and Section 7(3) of Czech Act No. 480/2004 Coll.). You unsubscribe with the link in every summary, or in your account settings (section E-mail updates).

After the free sample you ordered from us, we send you at most two short purchase reminders about your own family tree: one 2 to 3 days after the result if you have not ordered anything, and one the day after a payment you did not complete. They say how many ancestors are waiting in your family tree, how much it costs to unlock them and how much it costs to research more. We send each one only once. This is a short commercial message about our own service that you ordered (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and Section 7(3) of Czech Act No. 480/2004 Coll.). You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every reminder, or in your account settings (section E-mail updates).

When you unlock your family tree, we send you once, about a week after payment, a short e-mail about where the search in your family tree could go next and how much it costs to research more ancestors. This is a commercial message about our own service that you bought (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and Section 7(3) of Czech Act No. 480/2004 Coll.). You unsubscribe from it the same way as from purchase reminders. We send no other commercial messages.

These are the registration confirmation, a new password, the result of the free sample, the reply to an enquiry, the quote, the order confirmation, invoices, progress reports, summaries of finds in the family tree, purchase reminders, the e-mail about where to search next, offers to connect with relatives, invitations, links to the questionnaire and the notice before an account is cancelled. We keep a copy of each sent e-mail (to whom, when, the subject and the text, without sign-in links) and whether it was delivered for 90 days.

We send and receive e-mails through Amazon Web Services in the USA (region us-east-1). Mail to info@mojehistorie.cz is forwarded from there to our mailbox at Google.

Technical data and security

For the service to work securely, we process a few technical details.

  • The number of attempts to sign in, register and submit forms (only in the server's memory) to protect against misuse.
  • Server access logs (IP address, page address, time, browser type and the page you came from) and logs of important actions in accounts and in the family tree.
  • Application logs (what the server is doing at the moment) without your full e-mail address and IP address, only in shortened form. We record the full IP address only on a failed sign-in attempt, to defend against attacks on passwords. These logs are overwritten continuously, within 30 days at the latest.
  • Technical error reports (the Sentry service, data in the EU) without names, e-mails, cookies or form contents.

We process them on the basis of our legitimate interest in secure and working operation (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We store passwords only as a fingerprint, the connection is encrypted and database backups are encrypted. Only our team has access to the data.

We make no automated decisions about you. A language model helps us read old records, but it makes no decisions about you.

Ancestors and living people

We treat the data of deceased ancestors as carefully as the data of the living.

Data about the deceased is not personal data under the GDPR. Together with the family tree, however, it says something about your family, so we protect it in the same way. We recognise a living person by the fact that they have no death record and were born less than 110 years ago. Such people are seen only by the signed-in family.

For living people we do not enter faith, health, cause of death or nationality into their details and stories, even if some document states it. The exceptions are the verbatim transcription of a parish register record, which is seen only by the signed-in family, and what you write about yourself in the questionnaire with your explicit consent.

Are you in a family tree someone else created?

If a relative entered you into a family tree, here you will find what we have about you and what you can do about it.

  • Who: the controller is PunkHive s.r.o. (contact above). The family tree was given to us by a member of your family who ordered ancestor research from us or completed the family questionnaire.
  • What: usually name and surname, maiden name, dates and places of birth and marriage, links to parents, partners and children. Possibly photos, memories or documents the family sent us.
  • Why: so that the family can know and preserve its own family tree. Without the links through the living generations, there is no way to get to the ancestors in the parish registers. This is the legitimate interest of your family and our interest in performing the contract (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have assessed that this interest does not override your rights, because we store only basic details, publish nothing, and the family tree is seen only by the invited family.
  • Who sees it: only the family members whom the owner of the family tree invited, according to their role, and our team. Beyond that only our processors (below). If a family member connects the family tree to an assistant app, the app sees you according to the family website's settings, for living people perhaps only the name and relationships.
  • How long: as long as the family website exists. We delete it when its owner asks us to. We delete or hide the data about you sooner if you object.
  • Your rights: you can ask what the family tree holds about you, have it corrected, or object. We then hide you or keep you only as a "living family member" without a name, so that the tree still makes sense. Just write to info@mojehistorie.cz and say which family tree it concerns (the name of the relative who ordered it is enough).

We have not informed you personally, because we do not have your contact details. Looking them up would mean processing more about you than we need. If we invite you to the family website or send you the questionnaire, we tell you this directly in the e-mail.

Children

Anyone aged 15 or over can create an account; commissioned research and vouchers are ordered by adults only.

Children under 15 complete the family questionnaire only with a parent who agrees to it. Children's data in the family tree (for example grandchildren) is seen only by the signed-in family, like the data of all other living people. Upload photos of children to the family tree only with the consent of their parents.

How long we keep data

We keep data only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires.

  • The account and the free sample (the details entered, the result and the family tree we prepare for it) we keep until you cancel the account. A cancelled account, with its data, remains stored and can be restored (with the link from the cancellation e-mail, valid for a year, or by our administrator); it is no longer possible to sign in to it or for us to send you anything, and the family tree from the free sample is hidden. If you do not sign in and order nothing for 12 months, we notify you by e-mail and 30 days later cancel the account in the same way. We delete it permanently if you ask us to (write to info@mojehistorie.cz).
  • An unconfirmed registration (nobody used the link from the e-mail) and an unconfirmed free sample from the website are deleted after 7 days.
  • An enquiry that did not lead to commissioned research is deleted 12 months after your last message. The IP address with an enquiry or message is deleted after 30 days.
  • Messages from the contact form are deleted 12 months after your last message, feedback (including the screenshot) within 12 months of being dealt with.
  • Finds in your family tree and sent summaries are deleted after 12 months, and so is the record of sent purchase reminders. Connection offers that did not lead to a connection are deleted after 12 months. Consent to a connection and the record of contact details being passed on are kept as long as you have an account, as evidence.
  • A testimonial is kept until you delete it, or until we permanently delete your account at your request. After consent is withdrawn it remains for us only.
  • Commissioned research (the quote, the order and the communication) is kept for 4 years from the end of the contract because of possible claims. Invoices for 10 years, because the VAT Act requires it.
  • An unlocking order in the app is kept for as long as the account exists and then for 10 years (accounting and tax regulations). An unpaid order is deleted after 30 days.
  • A gift voucher is kept for 10 years from payment (accounting and tax regulations). An unpaid one is deleted after 30 days.
  • The family website (the tree, stories, questionnaire answers, invitations and research materials) is kept until the owner of the family tree cancels it. It is not limited in time. We delete it when the owner asks us to. Cancelling an account does not delete the family tree. An individual person's data is deleted sooner if they ask.
  • Photos of people are kept until they are deleted by the person who uploaded them, the owner of the family tree or an administrator. They are kept at most until the owner of the family tree closes the family website. A deleted photo disappears from the backups on the server within 14 days and from the encrypted backup within 30 days. Photos are not included in the monthly archive copy.
  • Questionnaire answers are deleted sooner if you withdraw your consent.
  • Server access logs (IP address, page address) are deleted after 14 days.
  • Copies of sent e-mails and technical error records are deleted after 90 days; records of important actions, of changes in the family tree and of queries from assistant apps after 12 months.
  • Database backups are kept for 14 days on the server and 30 days in encrypted storage. In addition, once a month we keep an archive copy for 13 months in case data corruption shows up only later; we use it only when restoring the whole service after a disaster. Deleted data disappears from regular backups within 30 days at the latest, and from the archive copy within 13 months at the latest.

Whom we pass data to

We sell it to nobody. These processors (zpracovatelé) help us.

  • Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): the server and database in a data centre in the EU. Our e-mail sending system also runs on a server in the EU.
  • Amazon Web Services (USA): sending and receiving e-mails (the SES service in the us-east-1 region, USA) and the encrypted database backup (the S3 service, Frankfurt) and the encrypted backup of photos of people (the S3 service, Frankfurt).
  • Anthropic (USA): the Claude language model that helps us read old records and documents. We pass it details about ancestors (including what you write about the ancestor when entering the sample), the photos of documents you attach to the entry, and images of parish registers, not your e-mail or name.
  • Google: the mailbox to which we forward mail from info@mojehistorie.cz.
  • Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry): technical error reports, data in the EU.
  • Google Ireland Limited: measuring visits to the website and the account (Google Analytics 4), only with consent in the cookie bar.
  • Stripe (Ireland): payments and tax documents; it receives your e-mail and the description of the order.
  • Our accounting and tax office.

The following are independently responsible for their own processing:

  • Google, if you sign in with a Google account;
  • payment services (Stripe for fraud prevention, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna), if you use them;
  • the assistant app to which a family member connects the family tree;
  • map services, when you view the map. Mapy.cz (Seznam.cz, a.s.), OpenStreetMap and the old maps server Chartae Antiquae receive your IP address and the section of the map you are viewing.

We pass your name and e-mail to another customer only when you may share an ancestor and both you and they agree to the connection (section Connecting with relatives).

We pass data to the authorities only when the law requires us to.

Transfers outside the EU

Some processors are based in the USA, so data may also go there.

These are Amazon Web Services, Google and Anthropic. Sentry and Stripe belong to American companies, so a transfer to the USA may occur with them too. With Amazon Web Services, Sentry, Stripe and Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) the transfer is covered by the EU standard contractual clauses or by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For the mailbox at Google and for Anthropic it is governed by their terms of service.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only what the service cannot work without, or what you set yourself. On mojehistorie.cz (the website and the account with the family tree) we additionally measure visits, but only when you allow it in the bar.

  • The sign-in cookie (rodokmen_session): keeps you signed in. It is valid for a year from your last visit, every visit extends it, but for at most 2 years from sign-in (then you sign in again). Signing out deletes it. You cannot sign in without it.
  • Browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB): what you set in the app, for example the font size or the tree view, who is signed in in the browser (name, e-mail and role, so that the page renders immediately), the free sample entry form in progress including photos of documents and questionnaire answers in progress until you submit them, and on the website your choice in the cookie bar (mh.souhlas, 12 months). It stays only in your browser and is not sent to us. On a shared computer, sign out when you finish and delete the site data in the browser settings.

Measuring website visits (Google Analytics 4). On the website mojehistorie.cz a bar appears on your first visit. Until you tap "Accept" in it or tick analytics cookies, we measure nothing and no request goes to Google. After consent, Google Analytics stores the cookies `_ga` and `_ga_…` (valid for 2 years) in the browser and sends Google anonymous details about the visit: which pages you opened, where you came from, the device and browser type, a shortened IP address and whether you submitted a form. The consent from the bar applies to the whole mojehistorie.cz domain, that is also in the account and in the family tree. There we measure which parts you open (the result of the free sample, the tree, the offer), but we send page addresses shortened: without the name of the family tree, without people's names and without the details you entered. When you pay by card, we also send Google the amount and the type of purchase with an anonymous browser identifier, not the order number. We do not link them to your account or name; advertising features and Google Signals are switched off. The data is processed by Google Ireland Limited as our processor; it may be transferred to the USA under the Data Privacy Framework. You withdraw consent at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer: we then delete the Google Analytics cookies and the measuring stops. Declining has no effect on your use of the website or the service. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 89(3) of the Czech Electronic Communications Act).

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. Without consent nothing goes to Google Analytics, not even from the account. We keep only aggregate daily counts ourselves (how many entries, results, offer views and payments per day) without any link to a specific person. When you sign in through Google, the button is loaded by Google, which may use its own cookies under its own rules. You delete the data stored in the browser in its settings.

Your rights

You decide about your data. Just write to us.

  • to know what data we hold about you and to receive a copy of it
  • to have the data corrected or completed
  • to have the data deleted if we no longer need it or you have withdrawn consent
  • to restrict its processing, for example until we resolve your objection
  • to receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable form (the family tree, for example, as GEDCOM)
  • to object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • to withdraw consent at any time, for example for the questionnaire or the publication of a testimonial. This does not affect what took place before.

You cancel your account yourself on the Account page (the data remains stored and the account can be restored).
