Moje historie

How it works

From grandma's name to ancestors from the 1600s

You do not need to visit any archive. One name from you is enough.

  • 4 steps for you
  • $9 (€8) per ancestor we find
  • no call you order in your family tree

Step by step

Four steps for you, the rest is on us

  1. You: You enter one ancestor. A birth, a wedding or a death is enough.

    Day 1 Free sample

We: We send their record from the register, usually the same day, within a week at the latest; other ancestors we found we show locked.

  2. You: Everything we found beyond the sample you unlock in the app for $25 (€22).

    Right away Unlocking

We: We unlock right after payment by card. Then the tree is yours. We also look up your direct ancestors' houses where the records allow.

  3. You: In your family tree you choose the side of the family and how many ancestors at most, and pay $9 (€8) per ancestor by card.

    Any time Search further

We: No quote and no call, we start searching.

  4. You: Grandma adds dates, memories and photos.

    Week 1 Questionnaire

We: We send the family a questionnaire and go through old papers.

  5. You: Nothing. Along the way you get a report on what we have.

    Weeks 1 to 3 Research

We: We read the registers, record by record. A person checks every link.

  6. You: You invite your relatives.

    Within 3 weeks Handover

We: We hand over the tree, the Family Book in PDF and the data. For those we did not find we refund $9 (€8) each.

  7. You: You write what your family knows differently.

    30 days Corrections

We: We correct and add it at no extra charge.

Step 1 is free and commits you to nothing.

What we need from you

A little is enough, but the more, the faster

At the start

  • the name of one ancestor
  • the year and village of a birth, wedding or death
  • what your family tells about them

In the questionnaire

  • dates of the living generations
  • memories and nicknames
  • old photos and obituaries

Documents, if you have them

  • birth and marriage certificates
  • passports, military papers, ship manifests
  • a photo taken with your phone is enough

Certainty for every fact

Every fact comes with its record

With the archive, book and page given, anyone can find the record.

1 The record in the register

A line from the register of births of Horákov, December 1810, written in old German script; the date, house, child, father and mother marked in colour

2 In plain English

On 3 December 1810 in Horákov, house no. 44, František Hromek was born, son of the quarter farmer Jiří Hromek and Genovefa, née Neužilová.

How we know it

From the same old books that historians read.

  • Parish registers births, marriages and deaths from the 1600s
  • Land registers and books of farms who held a house and what he paid for it
  • Tax rolls of the 1650s and 1670s farmers around 1650
  • Censuses who lived with whom in one house
  • Maps from the mid 1800s the village and the house as they looked then
  • Family documents and memories birth certificates, photos, what is told in the family

The computer helps us search and read the records. A person checks every fact.
