Questions
What gift givers ask
What if the recipient knows almost nothing about their ancestors?
One name, a rough year and the village of a birth, wedding or death is enough, for example from the parents' birth certificate. The rest we look for in the registers. If they are not sure, we get on a call and go through it together.
How do I buy and give the voucher?
Right here by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, in US dollars or euros, no call needed. Right after payment the voucher in PDF arrives by e-mail, with the recipient's name and a code on the stub. Print it, or forward it. The back of the voucher tells the recipient what to do. If card payment in your currency is not available yet, write to us at info@mojehistorie.cz and we will arrange it.
Where does the recipient redeem the voucher?
On mojehistorie.cz/en/voucher they enter the code from the stub and fill in whom we are looking for; you can do it for them. We confirm the code at once and take the request as paid. Nothing more to pay. We start searching within 14 days of redeeming. How long the search takes depends on the number of ancestors: 5 to 10 ancestors usually within a week, larger searches within two to three weeks. The voucher is valid 12 months from purchase.
How much does it cost and what should I choose?
The voucher is for a search for the recipient's ancestors: 10 ancestors for $90 (€80), or 30 ancestors for $270 (€240), that is $9 (€8) per ancestor. For ancestors we do not find, we refund the buyer $9 (€8) each. Thirty ancestors is roughly the whole family of one grandparent. If in doubt, choose ten; the recipient can search for more in their own family tree.
